Plant a Tree
Let's work together to help our planet
The UK is Europe's second least forested country, behind Ireland, with only 13% of the UK’s land being covered by trees.
The Woolly Farm occupies a part of the world that has been surrounded by forest for hundreds of years, but doesn't itself have many high-quality trees that will stand the test of time.
The need to support our environment has never been greater - we are at a significant turning point and must do whatever we can to reduce our impact on the world. Trees, as well as being beautiful and making excellent homes for birds and other wildlife, are fantastic at reducing carbon in the atmosphere. Our aim is to plant 5000 trees on the farm over the next 5 years to develop hedges, treelines, and habitats that reduce our carbon footprint and support a thriving environment for beasties of all sizes.
We need your help to achieve this goal, so are offering the opportunity to purchase a tree that will be planted on the farm. Buy one for yourself, gift one to a loved one, or get one for a special occasion; as well as helping the planet, the recipient will get a certificate and a what3words reference of the exact spot their tree is planted in. They can even come and visit the farm and see their tree once it's been planted.

Important facts about carbon footprints
We all have a carbon footprint, i.e., the amount of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) we add to the atmosphere every year from, for example, heating our houses, driving our cars, the amount of waste we produce and jetting off on holiday
40% of UK CO2e emissions come from households
The average UK individual emits approximately 10 tonnes of CO2e every year
There are all sorts of things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint, e.g. by turning down your heating by 1 or 2 degrees, by choosing energy-efficient products or by running the washing machine on eco-friendly settings. You can also shop locally and buy in-season products
To reduce the impact of climate change, the average CO2e per person needs to be reduced to 2 tonnes by 2030 (climatehero.com)
Important fact about trees
On average, 20 trees can offset 1.25 tonnes of CO2e every month, helping reverse the impact of an individual on climate change
