Wasdale, Irton Pike and Latter Barrow

3-hour trek

We offer two 3-hour treks: valley and fell.

The valley trek takes you through rolling fields, under ancient trees and through woodland along the base of Latter Barrow to the bottom of the valley that looks up to Scafell Pike and England’s deepest lake, Wastwater.

The fell trek takes you up Irton Pike and out onto the fell, where (weather-dependent!) you'll find stunning views toward Scafell Pike.

If you’d like to book your own private trek, get in touch and we can talk through the options with you.

What to Expect

Age: 10+

Group size 5-10

Length: 3 hours, including safety briefing

Distance: 5 miles

Prices:

Adult (10 years+): £60

Spectator (not walking a llama): £20

2 people to 1 llama: £40 per person

How long is the trek?

The whole experience takes 3 hours. Once you’ve checked in, we’ll give you an introduction to everything llama, including how to hold the lead rope, and a safety briefing, then we’ll be off.

Who is this walk suitable for?

Children aged 10 and up can lead their own llama as long as a parent is a paying member of the group. For safety reasons, we can’t take children under 10 on the long treks.

What will I need?

Sturdy footwear is a must! No open-toed sandals and definitely no flipflops! Walking boots or wellies are ideal as the terrain can be soggy and occasionally bumpy, but in dry weather, trainers will do too. Don’t worry if you don’t have anything suitable – let us know before you arrive and you can borrow a pair of our wellies. Waterproof trousers and a jacket will also be handy – the weather in the Lake District is full of surprises.

What if it’s raining?

The Lake District is stunning for one very good reason: rain. We won’t cancel a walk unless we feel the weather presents a significant safety risk. In that case, we’ll either refund you or offer you another date. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information on cancellations and refunds.

Who can I bring?

Children aged 10-18 must have a paying adult with them. If a member of your party doesn't want to lead a llama but still wants to come along, they can buy a tag-along ticket. Spectators must be at least 7 years old.

Sorry, no dogs allowed on the walk.

If you or a member of your party has additional needs or requirements, get in touch and we’ll chat through how we can tailor your activity to suit you.
