Take a walk around our picturesque 55-acre farm with one of the Woolly Yompers at your side.
About the Farm
The Woolly Farm is located in Santon Bridge, Holmrook in the Western Lake District.
As well as llamas and alpacas, we have a selection of sheep, kune kune pigs, pygmy goats, chickens and ponies.
This 90-minute walk gives you the opportunity to get to know our alpacas as they accompany you around the farm.
What to Expect
Group size 8-16
Length: 60 minutes, including safety briefing
Distance: 2 miles
Child: 7 – 12 years old: £25.00
Spectator (not walking an alpaca): £10
2 people to 1 alpaca: £20 per person
How long is the trek?
The whole experience takes 60 minutes. Once you’ve checked in, we’ll give you an introduction to everything alpaca, including how to hold the lead rope, and a safety briefing, then we’ll be off.
Who is this walk suitable for?
Children aged 7 and up can lead their own alpaca as long as a parent is a paying member of the group. For safety reasons, we can’t take children under 7 on the farm walk.
What will I need?
Sturdy footwear is a must! No open-toed sandals and definitely no flipflops! Walking boots or wellies are ideal as the terrain can be soggy and occasionally bumpy, but in dry weather, trainers will do too. Don’t worry if you don’t have anything suitable – let us know before you arrive and you can borrow a pair of our wellies. Waterproof trousers and a jacket will also be handy – the weather in the Lake District is full of surprises.
What if it’s raining?
The Lake District is stunning for one very good reason: rain. We won’t cancel a walk unless we feel the weather presents a significant safety risk. In that case, we’ll either refund you or offer you another date. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information on cancellations and refunds.
Who can I bring?
Children aged between 7 and 16 must have a paying adult with them. If a member of your party doesn't want to lead an alpaca but still wants to come along, they can buy a tag-along ticket. Spectators must be at least 7 years old.
Sorry, no dogs allowed on the walk.
